Junior Clowns | Ages 8-12
About this event
Let the games continue! We have all the classic clown provocations and a few new ones too. Get ready for paper bag clowns, high status/low status, and "experts". Through these games we'll start to find your character comfort zone - are you a ballerina, or a monster? and we'll help you work beyond that (a monster ballerina perhaps?) Debbie Zukerman is a practicing performing artist and teaches the class through the joyful lens of clowning. Before moving to Melbourne and starting Bananadrama Debbie was co-artistic director of clown company Choo Choo Troupe, and worked regularly with improv troupe Post Its, drag comedy troupe Cleo and the Kweens and sketch company The Kvetch Set Collective. Debbie has performed around Australia and appeared periodically in film, TV, and despite her socialist tendencies, ads for Mega-Corp and it’s subsidiaries. As a younger and more serious person, Debbie studied many performance styles including clown at Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Paris) and Meisner at Ward Studio (NYC).
